Business thoughts,
Reviews
I knew I had something important to share, but I got to blogging reviews and looked at the clock. I need to be out the door in a couple of minutes and I worked through my work out time. I know, when I have so much fun sharing my opinion, I forget to look at my moleskin to see what I had planned for today.
That what it was… I wanted to share an opinion. I wanted to tell you once more about how cool God is. I see it in the connections He gives me.
So someday this week, I got to thinking I needed to research an article/video/podcast/press release submission site to develop. I’m sitting on the perfect domain name and these are services I need. I didn’t want to be paying too much monthly and see little results. I found many of the scripts and a lot of the features I wanted. But who has the time when you already have ImaginePublishing.com, AskandImagine.com and ExpectancyMinistries.com? I wanted this service to grow these businesses. I knew there would eventually be a conundrum.
So imagine my surprise to come across a new site that offered article and video submission, and I could try it out for $1. I checked the monthly rates following and it was only $17 – more reasonable than setting up a new site for myself when I really didn’t have the time. It was through Paypal, so I knew I could cancel at any time.
So through a series of circumstances, I’ve met the owner. Love his bigger picture. See he’s a guy with integrity. So I can’t help but recommend you to http://www.downloadsuniverse.com. If you want a higher page rank for your site (and you do, if you want traffic) you need to have backlinks to your site. You can get high quality ones but producing high quality content and submitting it to high PR sites. DownloadsUniverse.com helps simplify the process. Check it out. I like what I see.

When you get organized, you can get a lot of things done. This week is a full one for me, but I’m glad I feel ready to get after it.
I’ve been able to finish setting up RevTrev Reviews and Web Advice. This week I’ve committed to 3 posts a week on each.
Reviews tagline is “Because you deserve my opinion”. It’s tongue-in-cheek as I plan to keep the reviews. I have 4 manuscripts from unpublished books sitting on my desk and hard drive, so I know people want my opinion on writing
. Almost everything I review will be from our online store (that I often forget I have) www.EmpoweringInspiration.com but we’ll see how it goes.
Web Advice comes from my currently active 21 website experience. With the huge mistakes I’ve made over the years, and people who use our services at www.IntegrityOnlineServices.com asking me advice, I thought I’d better start writing it down.
Well, I have 10 training/ministry sessions over the next 30 days to prepare for, 7 sermons to write for Life Above the Negativity, and I need to update RevTrev.com, AskandImagine.com and type up the latest blog for Drink From the Deep
Maybe I should pull an all-nighter? Probably better to watch the next episode of Laugh Yourself to a Better Marriage with Kaz.
That’s it.
OOOH, just thought of things to update with this site… do I go crazy or leave it be?

Random Thoughts
OK, I get it… I think.
I’ve been looking for two days for my favourite pen. It’s a space pen.
No, it didn’t come from space, that’s how it’s marketed. It could write in space. It writes upside down, and vertically – both features I’ve enjoyed. It can also write underwater, but I can’t figure out how to get paper underwater without destroying it.
I love this pen because it’s small and I can use it anywhere. It’s always with me. Except when I loose it.
Which happens on occasion.
A few weeks ago I thought it went through the wash again. But when it didn’t turn up, I went looking. I found it next to my moleskin notebook, that I’ve basically set aside since I got my iPhone.
I’ve mod-ed another moleskin to hold my iPhone and carrying two is cumbersome when you don’t wear a jacket.
But it’s October in Edmonton and I’ve been telling my kids ” daddy should have worn socks today”.
And I should have, it’s cold sitting in the park, waiting for Kaz to do what she needs to at work, updating my blog on my oh-so-cool iPhone.
But you know, I read my notes in the moleskin the other day. I have shopping lists, to-do lists, novel research, nonfiction outlines, sermon thoughts, Bible verses that have jumped into my thoughts… And I realized I have history recorded on those pages.
When I use to-do lists, or notes on the iPhone, it’s gone when it’s time to move on. Sure, if I save it on my Mac, spotlight can find it quickly. That feature made my day yesterday, when I couldn’t get tech support for my less-than-standard problems with www.ImagineDistribution.com. But there’s something more permanent about words on a page.
Which is why I love my space pen.
But after I found it, I lost it the next day.
It wasn’t under the files on my desk, or in my jacket or pants pockets. I wasn’t too concerned but prayed “God, I love that pen, can you help me find it?”
It worked out well.
The next day I found it on the passanger seat in our van.
How it got there, I don’t know. I assumed I took it out without thinking and left it there. Although I had no reason to do that. The last time I remember seeing it was the Costco parking lot, when it fell out of my coat jacket pocket to the ground. I picked it up and put it in the frontpockets of my jeans where it would be safe.
It wasn’t. I lost it. I found it on the seat next to me.
Fast forward a week. Last night I was sure I must have left it on my desk under the new filed I opened since I last cleaned my desk looking for the pen. It wasn’t.
I figured it was lost for good. The last place I remember it was when I left my coat in the car, went into the store with both moleskins and my space pen in my hands. I put them in my back pockets, thinking that wasn’t the safest place for my pen.
I searched everwhere it could be. It wasn’t anywhere I looked. I prayed again “Lord, I really don’t want to buy another one because I lost it.”
I told Kaz I’d wait for her at the park. I figured I could get some writing done. I brought another pen.
But when I got here, right beside me, where Kaz was sitting, was my space pen.
Same location.
Twice.
Both times it should not have been there.
Both times a prayer was answered.
I don’t care if you think I’m crazy. I’m considering this as the Father’s favour on me.
God loves you – but I’m His favourite.
And I have my space pen to prove it.
